Erlanger & Elsmere Historical Society Bulletin

During the remainder of 2008, we are putting together for publication an historical review of our two communities. We are considering naming it "Erlanger & Elsmere... Then & Now" or "Images of America…Erlanger & Elsmere".

In order to make the publication as comprehensive as possible, we are calling upon you to provide us with old and new photos. We are requesting that you bring in, or send in, your photos to be considered for inclusion in the publication. We will scan them and capture any pertinent information that you can provide with the photos and then return them to you. We would love to have input from local schools and their history departments, photo clubs, social science classes, and college history departments. If you can provide us with already scanned images that include supporting textual documentation that would be even better!

Photos may be submitted to us at our booth at the Erlanger Depot Museum during our Heritage Day, September 21st, or if you prefer, drop them off at the Depot Museum on any Saturday between the hours of 12:00 – 4:00. Additionally, you may submit photos via US mail or email to the addresses below. If you have any questions, please call 859.727.2630 and leave a message. Someone will return your call promptly.

Please send photos in a sealed envelope and include your name, complete mailing address and phone number. We suggest that the back of each photo be marked with the same information and include any historical information on the date that the photo was taken, its location and any other known facts about the photo. When writing on the backs of the photos, please use a pencil and not a pen. Additional suggestions on topics or the content of the publication are encouraged and welcomed!

Please note that not all photos and suggestions may be used as we are limited to a certain number of pages for this publication. We will attempt to return all photos to the senders whether the materials are included or not.

Upon completion and publication, the book will be available in local book stores or through the Historical Society. Thank you for your interest in this project and preserving the history of our communities for future generations!

No matter which side of the highway you live on, we are family!
